Power Skating & Skills

Why take part in our sessions?

Power skating is essential in today’s game. It is fast, demanding and always changing. It requires efficient skating technique and great conditioning to outperform your adversary. By taking part in our programs which focuses on breaking down movements to their most basic elements and principles, the players become stronger, faster, more stable, more agile, and explosive.

We focus on skating, but we also include pucks in our sessions. As the players progress through our program, the more often and the more easily they’ll be able to do the drills with the puck making him unstoppable on the ice.

Our skills sessions have a big skating element in each drill. However, every drill is thought out and teaches a concept or mimics a game situation. The coaches take the time to explain the drill and why the drill is done a specific way so that the player can really understand and be able to apply it during a game.

We have been developing and constantly improving this program for the past 12 years. Noticing quirks in a player’s technique has become second nature and our team is able to communicate quickly and clearly what they see and how the player can improve.

A guideline to our groups

Beginner Group – Dedicated for players that are starting or that have never done a power skating session in the past. The goal is to create a solid foundation to build upon for the next steps.

Regular / Intermediate Group – Dedicated to players that have regularly participated in our sessions or that have a solid skating foundation. The objective is to keep on building the necessary skills to reach the next level while integration puck control in the drills!

Advanced Group – Dedicated for players that have been attending sessions for a couple of seasons and that play at an elite level (AA-AAA-Prep or higher). The objective is to refine the players technique and push their limits with and without the puck!
